Forsyth Park’s renovated tennis courts are open for play
Court hours, Friday’s 5 p.m. ceremony and a chance to discuss the city budget.
The city completed the Forsyth Park tennis-court renovation on Sept. 25. The work replaced deteriorated courts, fencing and amenities and added new pavement and playing surfaces. Courts are open dawn to 9 p.m., seven days a week, with lights from 6 to 9 p.m. Reserve play through the Bacon Park Tennis Center at 912-351-3850 or the city website. The construction contract was capped at $363,081.
A gas tax break, and still a heavy fuel bill for shrimpers
The pause temporarily removes the state’s 33-cent-per-gallon fuel tax. WSAV reports that high prices are still taking a toll on industries that depend on fuel every day, including Savannah’s shrimpers.
